About Molly

Molly McCluskey is a NYC-based actor, teacher, and coach. She co-founded Golden Gilly Arts with her dog, Gilly. Molly’s teaching philosophy is grounded entirely in making sure her students feel safe and comfortable from the get-go, creating the atmosphere and confidence to follow your fear and test your limits. Her classroom is a supportive space to try anything, and if you’re lucky, go a little crazy.

Prior to moving to NYC, Molly lived in Shenzhen, China for two years and taught English Literature. She realized she was a lifelong teacher when she found herself successfully explaining The Cask of Amontillado in English to a classroom of high school sophomores who didn’t speak english or do their assigned reading homework, but did have an exam in thirty minutes.

About Gilly, co-founder & cfo

Gilead Lynn McCluskey is a six-year-old Goldendoodle. She gets her name from Molly’s favorite book, The Handmaid’s Tale. She received her undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from Cornell University and her masters in Public Health from Columbia. She has a deep fascination with public transportation. She knows most of Metro North by heart and don’t even get her started on the 1 train. Gilly has flown all over the country in first class, business, and (primarily) coach with her mother. She can sense sadness, a bad mood, heart palpitations, and/or a desire for affection from a mile away and can often be found pulling on her leash towards the person she’s confidently identified as “in need.”

Despite her Ivy League education, Gilly has never learned to “give paw.”
